So where do you go yarn shopping in Nepal? It is not so easy to find shops that sell spun wool. I looked at other knitting blogs but had no luck. Today after breakfast I saw Rabindra’s shop, “Himalayan Yak & Sheep Shop in Thamel, Kathmandu. He has beautiful handmade sweaters so I say to myself “This man must have yarn” and he did! Beautiful solid and variegated hanks of Yak and Sheep wool. It definitely needs a good soak before using because dirt is everywhere in this city, but the price was around $10.00 USD for approximately 1kg.
Speaking of breakfast, we have found a favorite that has good food and great organic coffee. Gaia Restaurant is a must if you’re staying in Kathmandu. The prices are reasonable and the place has a nice atmosphere. Check them out at https://gaia-restaurant.com.
Tomorrow I depart on my mountain bike adventure. Until I get back…..
